In a powerful tribute to nature and sustainability, a tree plantation drive was organized on the occasion of World Environment Day at the Market Yard in Shirala, Maharashtra. The initiative was led by MLA Satyajit Deshmukh, who has consistently shown commitment toward environmental preservation and rural development.
Accompanied by enthusiastic local leaders including youth leader Ranjitsingh Naik, Samratsingh Shinde, BJP Rural Mandal President Satyajit Patil, and BJP City President Kuldeep Nikam, the event saw an inspiring turnout of volunteers, party workers, and concerned citizens.
MLA Satyajit Deshmukh emphasized the importance of collective action in battling climate change. Speaking at the event, he stated, “Protecting our environment is not just a government responsibility but a shared mission for every citizen. Through tree plantation and eco-conscious behavior, we can secure a greener, healthier tomorrow for our next generations.”
The Market Yard premises were selected for the plantation considering its central location and visibility in the town. Over hundreds of saplings including neem, banyan, and flowering trees were planted to enhance the green cover of the area.
