Introduction

On February 10, Shri Mohan Wamanrao Kamble launched an indefinite hunger strike at the Krantiveer Fakir Ranaji Sathe Memorial Site in Wategaon, Walwa Taluka. His demands include posthumous Bharat Ratna for Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe, proper implementation of caste subclassification, and the establishment of key memorials. As a public representative, I, Satyajit Deshmukh, fully support this movement and assure my efforts to push these demands at the government level.

Why This Hunger Strike Matters?

Wategaon has always been a land of revolutionaries and social reformers. This hunger strike is not just a protest—it is a fight for justice, recognition, and equal opportunities. The government must address these long-pending demands to ensure fair treatment for marginalized communities and the preservation of Maharashtra’s rich legacy.

Key Demands That Need Immediate Action

1. Bharat Ratna for Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe

Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe dedicated his life to uplifting the oppressed through literature, poetry, and activism. His contribution to society deserves the highest civilian honor – Bharat Ratna. I stand with this demand and will work towards getting it recognized at the national level.

2. Implementation of Scheduled Caste Subclassification

The 59 Scheduled Caste (SC) sub-castes must receive their rightful benefits under reservation policies. Delays in implementation have affected thousands. This must be resolved without further delay.

3. Memorials for Annabhau Sathe in Wategaon & Mumbai

Annabhau Sathe’s impact on society is unparalleled. A memorial in Wategaon and Chiragnagar, Mumbai, will ensure future generations remember his legacy. I will personally follow up on this demand with the relevant authorities.

4. Krantiveer Fakir Ranaji Sathe Memorial in Wategaon

Krantiveer Fakir Ranaji Sathe, a true freedom fighter, must be honored. I strongly support the demand to build his memorial in Wategaon as a tribute to his sacrifices.

5. Economic Development Corporation Reform

The Annabhau Sathe Economic Development Corporation aims to uplift backward communities. However, strict conditions make access to funds difficult. I support the demand to ease loan restrictions and increase financial assistance limits to ensure real benefits reach the needy.

As a Public Representative, I Assure Full Support!

I, Satyajit Deshmukh, fully support this movement and will continue pushing these demands at the government level. I stand with Shri Mohan Wamanrao Kamble and all protestors in this fight for justice and recognition. The government must act swiftly to resolve these legitimate concerns.

What’s Next?

This movement will not stop until justice is served. All citizens, social activists, and community leaders to come together and support this cause.
