Sangli Water Resources, A recent review meeting of the Water Resources Department, chaired by the Honourable Water Resources Minister, Shri Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, was held in Warna, Sangli. Several important topics were discussed in detail during this meeting, focusing on crucial water resources initiatives in the region.
Key Discussions and Decisions:
- Chadoi Dam Tourism Development: A significant suggestion was put forth to develop the Chandoli Dam area for tourism. The Minister instructed officials to prepare a detailed plan and submit a proposal for this initiative.
- Warna Left Canal Project: There was a strong demand to expedite the implementation of the Warna Left Canal project, which involves an 80-meter height scheme.
- Rehabilitation for Warna Dam and Sanctuary Affected Persons: The need for providing civic amenities in the rehabilitated settlements of those affected by the Warna Dam and sanctuary projects was highlighted. A request was made for the government to allocate funds for this as a special case. Additionally, a demand was made to increase the subsistence allowance from ₹400 to ₹1500.
- Wakurde Budruk Project Funding: A request was made for the provision of funds to ensure the speedy implementation of the Wakurde Budruk project.
- Flood Prevention along Warna River (due to Almatti Dam): A crucial suggestion was made for the Water Resources Department to coordinate effectively and plan to prevent the risk of floods in villages along the Warna River caused by the Almatti Dam.
