Randhir Naik – येळापूर (ता. शिराळा) : कराड–मलकापूर राज्य मार्गावरील मेणी फाटा ते वारणा नदीपर्यंत अपघात प्रवण क्षेत्रात तातडीने गतिरोधक (स्पीड ब्रेकर) व रंबलर बसवावेत या मागणीसाठी मोठ्या प्रमाणात रास्ता रोको आंदोलन करण्यात आले. या आंदोलनाचे नेतृत्व रणधीर नाईक (यशवंत ग्लुकोज कारखाना अध्यक्ष) व विराज नाईक (विराज उद्योग समूह अध्यक्ष व जिल्हा परिषद सदस्य) यांनी केले.
हे आंदोलन राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेस पार्टी शरदचंद्र पवार पक्ष आणि राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेस पार्टी अजित पवार गट यांच्या वतीने करण्यात आले.
🚧 वर्षभराची मागणी, तरीही प्रशासन निष्क्रिय
गेल्या वर्षभरात वारंवार निवेदने देऊनही प्रशासनाने ठोस कारवाई केली नाही. या अपघात प्रवण क्षेत्रात पाच जणांचा मृत्यू झाला असून अनेक जण गंभीर जखमी झाले आहेत.
संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांनी तहसीलदारांसमोर लेखी आश्वासन दिले होते, मात्र प्रत्यक्षात गतिरोधक बसविण्याचे काम सुरू झाले नाही.
⚠️ आठवड्याची मुदत – अन्यथा तीव्र आंदोलन
आंदोलनावेळी संबंधित विभागाचे डेप्युटी इंजिनिअर रोशन भोसले उपस्थित होते. अधिकाऱ्यांशी फोनद्वारे संपर्क साधून पुढील सोमवारपर्यंत गतिरोधक बसविण्यास सुरुवात करण्याची मुदत देण्यात आली. अन्यथा तीव्र आंदोलनाचा इशारा देण्यात आला.
कोकरूड पोलीस ठाण्यास दिलेल्या निवेदनात अपघातास जबाबदार असलेल्या ठेकेदार व मार्ग प्रकल्प अधिकाऱ्यांवर फौजदारी गुन्हे दाखल करण्याची मागणी करण्यात आली.
📢 मोठ्या संख्येने नागरिक उपस्थित
येळापूर परिसरातील शेकडो नागरिकांनी या आंदोलनात सहभाग घेतला. कुदळ-फावड्यांसह प्रतीकात्मक स्वरूपात रस्ता उकरणार असल्याचा इशारा देण्यात आला.
📝 पूर्वीचे निवेदन
दि. १६ फेब्रुवारी रोजी मार्ग प्रकल्प उपविभाग कराड, शिराळा तहसीलदार व कोकरूड पोलीस स्टेशन यांना लेखी निवेदन देण्यात आले होते. त्यानंतर रस्त्यावर पट्टे मारण्यात आले, मात्र वाहनांच्या वेगात कोणताही फरक पडला नाही. त्यामुळे नागरिकांना आंदोलनाचा मार्ग स्वीकारावा लागला.
Yelapur (Taluka Shirala): A strong road block protest was staged at Yelapur under the leadership of Randhir Naik, Chairman of Yashwant Glucose Factory, and Viraj Naik, President of Viraj Industry Group and Zilla Parishad Member.
The protest was organized by Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar faction and Nationalist Congress Party at the Yelapur bus stop on the accident-prone stretch of the Karad–Malkapur State Highway.
🚧 Demand for Immediate Speed Breakers
For the past one year, repeated memorandums and agitations have been carried out demanding the installation of speed breakers and rumblers between Meni Phata and Warna River. However, despite written assurances from the Road Project Subdivision Satara officials before the Tehsildar, no concrete action has been taken.
Several fatal accidents have occurred on this stretch, resulting in the loss of five lives and serious injuries to many others.
⚠️ Warning of Intensified Agitation
During the protest, Deputy Engineer Roshan Bhosale from the concerned department was present. Officials were contacted over the phone and were given a one-week deadline until next Monday to begin installation of speed breakers and rumblers.
Failing which, Randhir Naik warned of intensified protests.
A written complaint was also submitted to Kokarud Police Station demanding criminal cases be filed against the road contractor and responsible project officials, holding them accountable for the deaths caused due to negligence.

A large number of citizens from Yelapur valley participated in the agitation, carrying tools like spades and pickaxes symbolically to show their frustration.
📝 Background
Earlier, on 16th February, written representations were submitted to the Road Project Subdivision Karad, Shirala Tehsildar, and Kokarud Police Station. While road marking stripes were painted between Meni Phata and Shedgewadi, they failed to reduce vehicle speed, forcing citizens to resort to agitation.
Officials have now verbally assured that speed breakers and rumblers will be installed within eight days.
