The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024. Voting will be held in a single phase on November 20, and the results will be declared on November 23. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar shared this information, emphasizing the smooth conduct of elections in Maharashtra, which boasts a voter base of 9.63 crore people, including 4.98 crore male and 4.66 crore female voters.


In preparation for the elections, Rajiv Kumar mentioned several key measures to ensure a fair and organized process. Special provisions have been made for senior citizens over 85 years, allowing them to vote from home with a focus on maintaining their privacy. Additionally, arrangements such as seating for voters in queues will be implemented at polling stations to ensure comfort.


The Chief Election Commissioner also highlighted the importance of transparency. Candidates with a criminal background will need to publish their records three times in newspapers, ensuring voters have all necessary information. Kumar reiterated that elections are a celebration of democracy, urging all eligible voters to actively participate.


Key dates for the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 include the Gazette Notification on October 22, the last date for filing nominations on October 29, scrutiny of nominations on October 30, and the final date for withdrawing nominations on November 4. Mark your calendars for November 20 for voting and November 23 for the results.
